Will Nester had a butcher shop in Hondo. The Nesters had a big beautiful house. During the depression, they were the best off in the Richter family. Will was quite strict and kept his children in line, and his wife from joining the Richter family gossip sessions. Some of the Nesters' children suffered from heart problems. One son died at the age of 2, and another at age 23.
