Roland and Evy in 1937		My family history extends from my parents, Roland Wiederanders and Elvira Schweers, back through generations of ancestors. Wiederanders, Schweers, Beyer, Richter, Reuter, Tips, Heyen, and Schluentz ancestors all emigrated from Germany between 1844 and 1883, settling in Texas and the Midwest. Their personal stories, both here and in Germany, are intertwined with the dramatic historical events -- wars, occupations, revolutions, and social and economic upheavals -- of the times in which they lived.
