| Jacob owned 300 acres near D'Hanis. He took Tini there in 1902 and they lived in a two-room house. In 1914 they moved into the grand and spacious brick farmhouse they had built. Their daughter Hedwig died in 1909 at the age of 3 from typhoid fever. In 1929 they sold the ranch and moved to San Antonio. Unfortunately Jacob invested all the proceeds in the stock market, and his holdings were wiped out in the October crash. |
