| "Tini," as she was called, married Jacob in 1902 and moved out to his ranch near D'Hanis. She told her granddaughter, "Just think about it. Until my wedding night I didn't have any idea how babies were made." All her children were born at the ranch. In 1909 her daughter Hedwig died from typhoid fever at the age of 3. Mimmi Richter went to help nurse the dying child. Tini once shot a wolf that approached the fence to her garden. In 1929 she and Jacob sold the ranch and moved to San Antonio. |
