Notes for John Renker
John and Eleonore staked out a homestead on Rabbs Creek in 1854. John was conscripted into the Confederate Army, and died during the Civil War near Laredo, Texas, most likely died of an illness. The story is also told that he was killed by bandits while in charge of a wagon train near the Mexican border.
