| Otto was given the surname "Goldbeck." He went to sea about 1839 and eventually became a ship's captain. His brother Fritz ran into him in Bagdad, Mexico, and wrote a poem about him. The rest of his family never saw him again. He died in Cuba and was buried there. | ||||||||||||
