| Ernestine emigrated in 1854 with her parents and siblings aboard the Salucia. After her husband's death, she and her children moved to Hondo and established the Richter Hotel on 18th Street between Avenues M and N. Later the hotel moved to Highway 90 and Avenue M. the Richters served home-cooked meals in their dining room and the hotel became a favorite lodging place for travelers as well as local boarders. |
