Notes for Carl Ernst Wiederaenders | Ernst was a sickly child from birth. He grew stronger with age, and was drafted into the Saxon army and slated to serve in the infantry. He was a journeyman lacemaker in Annaberg. He developed a hernia, which earned him a release from military service. In Texas, he worked with his brothers on farms near Round Top until he died at the age of 25, either of peritonitis or dysentery.
