Carl’s signature on his emigration petition, the rest of which was penned by a clerk. The closing reads:
	“Hocherrichtungsvoll verharrend, Annaberg am 13. Dezember 1853. Carl Gottlob Wiederänders Böttchermeister”		“With highest hopes, I remain Annaberg, December 13, 1853 Carl Gottlob Wiederänders Master cooper”
