The log cabin of Ferdinand Lindheimer, an influential botanist who came to the U.S. in 1833 and catalogued the plants of Texas. He became Prince Solms’s wilderness guide, later joining the new colony of New Braunfels. He founded the town’s newspaper, the New-Braunsfelser Zeitung, in 1852.
